Girlfriend

“ Girlfriend ” depicts a ‘role-playing’ relationship as a manifestation of intimate relationships. In fact that this intimacy is still considered heterogeneous in society can make me feel depressed and anxious. Therefore we often need to hide the relationship in daily life. To maintain the 'couple relationships' in the traditional perception, we cannot appear in public photos of each other, nor can appear as lovers in the eyes of each other’s families and friends. Instead, we will use ‘girlfriends’ of each other to address and position themselves to respond to others inquiries.

In these photos, I wear female clothes, which appear in different life scenes. This is an expression of complex emotion and a means of hiding it. Under their protection, I appear in the photo as a fake girlfriend. During the filming process, we resonated and mutually affirmed the existence of this role-playing relationship.
